Biochar
Porous Recalcitrant Carbon for Soil Regeneration & Carbon Sequestration
High-carbon porous soil amendment produced by oxygen-limited thermochemical pyrolysis of agricultural residues, enhancing soil moisture, microbial life, and long-term carbon storage.
Engineered Biomass Characteristics
Biochar is a stable, carbon-rich solid coproduct synthesized via the controlled thermochemical pyrolysis of biomass in an oxygen-depleted environment. Unlike raw biomass that rapidly decomposes and releases carbon dioxide back to the atmosphere, biochar locks carbon in a highly recalcitrant aromatic molecular matrix that persists in soil environments for centuries. Its highly porous, honeycomb-like microstructure provides enormous internal surface area that dramatically improves soil water holding capacity, cation exchange capacity (CEC), fertilizer retention, and biological microbial habitats.
Feedstock Origins
Lignocellulosic agricultural residues, biomass shells, crop stalks, and woody residues processed under controlled thermal envelopes.
